Morris Barefield Scholarship Award

MORRIS BAREFIELD SCHOLARSHIP

In line with the values, teachings, and passions of our visionary family member Morris Barefield, the scholarships that we award in his honor target students who are community service-minded, understand the value of education, and who are thoughtful about their future. Morris understood the value of education and its significance in enhancing one's quality of life.

We established a scholarship to assist students as they transition to and through the halls of academia.  Assistance is contingent upon the financial resources available for the year. Please participate in GCFF fundraising to support this effort.  With your donations, we can help more of our students.

Support the Legacy – Invest in Our Future

Dear Family,

As we reflect on the values that have sustained our family through generations—faith, resilience, and unity—one principle stands above the rest: the power of education. Whether it's a college degree, a trade certification, or vocational training, education opens doors, builds confidence, and transforms lives.

In today’s world, success is no longer limited to the traditional classroom. Our young people are pursuing dreams in fields ranging from engineering and healthcare to welding, cosmetology, and culinary arts. But these dreams need fuel—and that’s where we, the family, come in.

We are proud to carry the torch for the [Family Name] Scholarship Fund—a fund created to honor our legacy by empowering the next generation. This scholarship isn’t just about books and tuition. It’s about giving our youth the chance to stand tall, pursue their calling, and carry our name forward with pride.

Why Your Support Matters:

  • Every dollar makes a difference. Whether you give $10 or $1,000, your contribution helps provide tuition support, certification fees, and tools for trade or study.

  • We invest in all forms of learning. This fund supports college students, trade school learners, and those pursuing licensed careers through apprenticeships and technical training.

  • This is a family legacy. Your donation is a declaration that we believe in our youth and that we stand together to help them rise.

How You Can Help:

Please consider making a contribution—no matter the size—to help us continue this important work. Together, we can break barriers and build a brighter future for our sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Let’s ensure that our family name stands not only for love and tradition—but for opportunity, success, and hope.
